To get there, Sky Remans has gone through all the stages of classic development, from the beginners’ group to the high-level sports school, including internships with Sport Vlaanderen from the age of 7. And, when summer comes, it is on the artificial springboards of Genk, where budding daredevils land on large airbags, that she has been perfecting her tricks for years.
Remans, who takes correspondence courses, is not (yet) professional, but she benefits from Be Gold status and support through the Sport Vlaanderen performance program.

Thanks to a close guard who takes great care of her, she managed to flourish on the European Cup circuit, which she won last year, before taking off on the World Cup rounds.
In just five events, including a decisive fifth place in Laax, she managed to pocket a sufficient number of points to qualify for the Milan-Cortina Games.
Olympic Games 2026: sixteen Belgian athletes will parade during the opening ceremony on Friday
“I always tried to do my best! I’m happy that the Olympic journey went well and to be here. Participating in the Games at 15 is obviously very special”smiled Sky Remans.
Who, normally, should have been a simple spectator of the competition. “My mom had already bought tickets for us, it was an event we didn’t want to miss!”
2026 Olympics: Evy Poppe withdraws and will not compete in the Big Air on snowboard on Sunday
Having become the youngest Belgian Olympian since swimmer Ingrid LEMPER in 1984, Sky Remans is also the youngest participant in these 2026 Olympics, all nationalities combined. At her young age, in Italy she benefits from special support measures for minors in the Games environment.
This is notably the responsibility of the COIB’s welfare manager, the psychologist Viktor Van der Veken, but also of his mother, Evi Gielen, who has received special accreditation as a chaperone and will have access to the facilities of the Olympic Village.
“It’s nice that she can encourage me and motivate me, but most of all I try to focus on myself”launches the young Limburger, eager to deliver good runs and “show what I can do”. Sky has no limits!
