Shell confirmed that it has re-supplied RON 92 gasoline fuel oil (BBM), with Shell Super products. Shell uses base fuel supplied by Pertamina.
Quoted by detikFinance, Pertamina and Shell Indonesia agreed on the supply of base fuel, aka pure fuel oil (BBM). According to information from Pertamina Patra Niaga, a subsidiary of Pertamina, fuel has started to be sent to Shell gas stations. The fuel supply reached 100 thousand barrels
“The distribution to Shell Indonesia confirms that Pertamina Patra Niaga is not only ready to meet fuel needs for Pertamina’s gas station network, but is also a strategic partner for private gas station operators. For Shell Indonesia, the distribution this time is 100 MB,” said Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary, Roberth MV Dumatubun.

So what is the quality? Shell Indonesia, through its Instagram account, emphasized that Shell Super RON 92 gasoline meets international standards. The base fuel supplied by Pertamina is then mixed with additives according to global Shell standards.
“To answer the need for quality fuel until the end of 2025, we import base fuel through a business-to-business (B2B) scheme in accordance with government directions, and have gone through strict quality tests by trusted independent surveyors with international standards,” wrote Shell Indonesia in the comments column of its Instagram account.
“The base fuel is processed and mixed with additives using technology that has been patented by Shell globally, then distributed to Shell gas stations following Shell’s safety and operational standards,” he continued.
Shell also confirmed that the base fuel for Shell BBM products in Indonesia does not contain ethanol.
Quoted from the official Shell Indonesia website, currently only RON 92 Shell Super petrol is available for petrol. Meanwhile, Shell V-Power and V-Power Nitro+ are not yet available.
Shell Super petrol is available in Jakarta, Tangerang, Cilegon, Serang, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, Bandung, Cirebon and Karawang. Shell Super petrol is currently sold at IDR 13,000 for the Jakarta, Banten and West Java areas.
