Shakira Cancels Concerts in Boston and Washington D.C. Due to Unforeseen Circumstances

The Colombian superstar expressed her regret over having to cancel shows on her ‘Women No Longer Cry’ tour, but thanked fans for their unwavering support.
Colombian singer SHAKIRA addressed fans this Saturday regarding the recent cancellations of two concerts on her ‘women No Longer Cry’ tour,which began its North American leg in mid-May.
The singer confirmed the cancellation of her scheduled performances in BOSTON and WASHINGTON D.C.
“Nothing is more painful for an artist than having to cancel concerts with full stadiums, such as BOSTON and WASHINGTON, for reasons beyond the control of one,” SHAKIRA stated.
North American Tour Continues Despite Setbacks
Despite the cancellations, SHAKIRA expressed gratitude to her fans for their understanding. “Thank you for being there in the good times and the not so good. We have sailed together for every bump of the road and you have always taken me to the other side,” she wrote.
“Nothing is more painful for an artist than having to cancel concerts with full stadiums… for reasons beyond the control of one.”
SHAKIRA concluded her message with a bilingual expression of affection: “I want them with everything,” she wrote in Spanish, ending a message that had been primarily in English.
The North American leg of SHAKIRA’s tour commenced on May 13 in CHARLOTTE, featuring a performance of her hit song ‘La Tortura’ with ALEJANDRO SANZ.
She has as performed in EAST RUTHERFORD, MONTREAL, DETROIT, and TORONTO. The tour is scheduled to continue through several cities untill the end of june.
Prior to the North American dates, SHAKIRA completed the Latin American portion of her ‘Women No Longer Cry World Tour,’ with performances in MEXICO CITY, MONTERREY, and GUADALAJARA.
The tour, which began in February, has also included shows in RIO DE JANEIRO, SAO PAULO, LIMA, BARRANQUILLA, BOGOTA, and BUENOS AIRES. As with the current North American leg, SHAKIRA had to reschedule a performance in SANTIAGO, CHILE.
