It is a drastic and prophylactic sidelining: like the Swiss daily Time revealed on November 24, the director and director of the Comédie de Genève, Séverine Chavrier, is now obliged to work remotely and has been relieved of all financial, administrative and technical responsibilities for the duration of an audit commissioned by the Dramatic Art Foundation – a company of public communal interest which operates the theaters entrusted to it, including the Comédie de Genève –, on the alleged failings of management and the deleterious climate that she would have established within the theater, a large vessel of 80 employees, with a substantial budget of 17 million Swiss francs (more than 18 million euros), including 12 from the city. At the same time, an investigation by the Court of Auditors was launched by the municipal Minister of Culture, Joëlle Bertossa, who until then defended the director.
