The Ferrari team announced on Tuesday that German driver Sebastian Vettel, four-time Formula 1 world champion, will leave the team at the end of the season and end a six-year stage in which, for now, he has not achieved the ‘longed for fifth title dressed in red.
“To get the best possible results in this sport it is vital that all parties work in perfect harmony. The team and I have realized that there is no longer a common desire to continue together beyond the end of this season. “Economic groups have not played a role in this joint decision. I do not think that way when it comes to making certain decisions and it will never be,” Vettel said in a statement.
In addition, the German pilot, who will turn 33 in July, has explained that he still does not know what the next step will be. “One needs to use my imagination and take a different approach when a situation has changed. I will take the time it takes to reflect on what really matters about my future,” he said.
