“Discover talents, promote talents” – under this motto the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) supports particularly talented and committed young people with a scholarship. Students, doctoral candidates or prospective journalists can therefore apply for one again this year. The application deadline is July 15, 2021.

In addition to very good professional performance and a corresponding general education, the selection criteria also include voluntary work. And the closeness to Christian democratic values. “We expect our scholarship holders to actively participate in non-material support. This includes attending our seminars as well as regular, committed participation in the events of the university groups and the continuous continuation of voluntary work, ”says the Foundation. Specifically, the requirements of the KAS are based on:

  • in the performance in school and studies, general education and the willingness to look “outside the box” of the subject,
  • interest in the values ​​represented by the Adenauer Foundation as well as their political content and topics;
  • the willingness to develop one’s own point of view and to practice tolerance towards those who think differently,
  • in volunteer work for other people and for society,
  • recognizable motivation as well as the respective potential, appearance and social competence of the applicants.

The CDU member of the Bundestag Dietrich Monstadt is now encouraging high school graduates and young students from his constituency to apply: “In West Mecklenburg I got to know many young people who do voluntary work and thus contribute to cohesion in our society. The Konrad Adenauer Foundation rewards this commitment with a grant ”.

Currently around 3,300 students from Germany and numerous other countries are funded by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
