The results of the workforce survey for the second quarter issued by the Statistics Authority today showed that the unemployment rate between the Saudis reached 6.8% in the second quarter 2025, compared to 6.3% by the end of the first quarter 2025.
It is worth noting that the Saudi Vision 2030 has been achieved by reducing the unemployment rate between the Saudis to 7%, and the Ministry of Human Resources is looking forward to moving forward by reducing it to 5% as a new target.
The unemployment rate among Saudi males reached about 4.3%, while the percentage among females reached about 11.3%, and the unemployment rate for non -Saudis was 1.4%.
The authority said that, at the estimate of the workforce survey, the total unemployment rate of the population of work age reached 3.2% in the second quarter of 2025 compared to 2.8% in the first quarter of 2025.
The data showed the decrease in the participation rate for the male Saudis compared to the first quarter to reach 64% in the second quarter of 2025.
The authority indicated that the rate of Saudi women’s participation in the workforce decreased to 34.5% in the second quarter 2025.
The Jazan region topped the Saudi regions, in terms of the total unemployment rate by 5.3%, then the northern border by 4.8%, and the Riyadh and the Eastern Region came as the lowest regions in terms of the total unemployment rate by 2.2%and 2.4%.
