Night Mode Camera Glitch on Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: What You Need to Know
Less than a week after its release, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has hit a snag with a camera glitch that particularly impacts night mode photography.
Reddit and Samsung’s official Community forums are buzzing with reports from frustrated users. However, Samsung has acknowledged the issue and promised a software fix soon.
During a nighttime astrophotography session, the 200MP main camera on the Galaxy S25 Ultra exhibited horizontal white bands in some night mode shots. This issue did not present when using the 50MP ultrawide camera.
Further testing with long exposure shots (up to 30 seconds) confirmed the issue was specific to the night mode feature, suggesting a problem in the camera’s software or image processing during low-light conditions.
Samsung’s Response
In response to the reported issues, a Samsung spokesperson indicated:
“We are aware of a limited number of cases where images appear blurred when taking photos in Night Mode on Galaxy S25 Ultra and have issued a fix to resolve in the next software update rolling out starting this week.”
The blurring, alongside the horizontal bands, may have been due to software issues affecting low-light shooting conditions.
This glitch underscores the importance of thorough testing before major releases, especially for a premium device like the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Despite this setback, the phone’s camera remains highly regarded for its overall performance. It was impressive in a recent shootout against the iPhone 16 Pro Max in telephoto photography.
Other notable features include the Audio Eraser, which outshines competition from Apple and Google, and support for LOG video recording, adding versatility to its photographic capabilities.
Consumers eagerly await the software fix to address these issues, hoping it will restore confidence in the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s performance.
