Microsoft Has recently announced massive layoffs, which the gaming division also find difficult. Numerous projects were discontinued, including Rare’s Everwild, an unknown MMORPG from Zenimax Online Studios and Perfect Dark by The Initiative, which was closed at the same time. For Xbox fans, this was a bitter setback.
In the middle of this negative news, another message spread: According to a well-known leaker, Xbox boss is supposed to Phil Spencer After the next Xbox generation (probably in 2027), step down. His successor is said to be Xbox President Sarah Bond.
This claim has Microsoft but clearly rejected. Frank Shaw, head of communication at Microsoftsimply called the rumors “invented” and made it clear that there are currently no plans for Spencer’s resignation.
Spencer has been part of the team since the introduction of the first Xbox 2001 and has headed the Xbox division since 2014. Although resignation appears possible at some point, there are currently no official signs of this.
