The Moon Eater festival is back, for a 2022 edition which will take place from August 13 to 20 on the site adjoining the Rouffach Hospital Center. This 15e edition comes after a difficult period, marked in 2019 by the disappearance of the kingpin of the event, the late Stéphane Ducommun, then a cancellation in 2020 due to Covid. Last year, we remember that Le Mangeur de lune was able to take place, but with reduced attendance due to the sanitary measures imposed at the time.
This year, the festival will offer eight concerts and a show for young audiences, always with the same objective: to discover world music, thanks to a quality program that mixes groups from different backgrounds. A meeting on a human scale that will offer a journey between swing, gypsy jazz, music from the Balkans or the Mediterranean, folk, blues and jazz, with the added bonus for the youngest, a discovery of African tradition in the company of Innocent yapi.
The Chinese in opening
The festivities will begin on Saturday August 13 in Eguisheim, with the opening concert featuring the gypsy jazz trio Le Chinois & friends. Meeting at 8 p.m., on the Place Saint-Léon. On Wednesday, August 17, there will be a free storytelling show by Innocent Yapi, which will introduce young audiences to African tradition, with songs and dances. Meet at 3 p.m. at the Saint-Léonard chapel in Pfaffenheim.

Eco-responsible festival, Le Mangeur de lune favors local products, waste sorting and reusable. The catering and the refreshment bar will thus offer products from local producers, as well as homemade pastries.
