Mr. Mitsuaki Iwago
Born in 1950. animal photographer. In 1980, he won the 5th Kimura Ihei Award for his serialization “Letters from the Sea” in the magazine “Asahi Graph”. 1982-84 He stayed in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, Africa. At this time, his photo book “Okite”, which he shot, became a bestseller all over the world. In 1986, a photo of a lion cub appears on the cover of the US National Geographic magazine. In 1994, he was the only Japanese to be featured on the cover for the second time with a photograph of a snow monkey. In 2012, “Mitsuaki Iwago’s World Cat Walk” started airing on NHK BS Premium. His books include Pantanal, Tora, Mr. Iwago’s Cat Brothers Tamasaburo and Tomotaro, Mitsuaki Iwago’s Japanese Cat Walk, and Mitsuaki Iwago’s Search for Cats. In 2019, he worked as a film director on “Cat and Grandpa”, and in 2021, “Mitsuaki Iwago theatrical version of the world cat walk As it is, the cat family of water and earth”.
