“Everything went very very well. We hope to be able to repeat the experience as soon as possible ”. Franck Gsegner, his wife and two daughters will not forget this day of June 21 anytime soon. At the helm of a small motor boat, rented on Click and Boat, the family from Roquebrune-Cap-Martin (Alpes-Maritimes) was able to navigate in the bay of Cannes, try their hand at the towed buoy and admire up close the Lérins Islands, all under a cloudless blue sky and radiant sunshine.
60 euros of gasoline paid directly to the owner
“I have had the coastal license since 2007 but I had never rented it. In nautical centers, you have to do it several weeks in advance and the choices are limited, ”he explains. A work colleague tells her about a site that offers boats for hire for both professionals and individuals. “The prices were very attractive and the site very easy to use,” he explains.
The father flashes on Romain’s ship, a private individual: a motor boat for 6 people. Via the platform, he exchanges with him, reserves the day and pays the 328 euros which includes the rental of the boat, insurance and the reimbursement guarantee in the event of bad weather. He will pay the 60 euros of gasoline, the day of the getaway, directly to the owner of the boat.
A week later, Franck Gsegner and his family meet Romain at Port Vauban, in Antibes. The owner explains how to navigate and gives safety instructions. Once the rental contract edited by Click and Boat has been signed and the boat inventory has been completed, Romain maneuvers to get the boat out of the port and leaves the family alone in control.
A lunch between the two Lérins islands
A few minutes after the grip, happiness is total. “We had a feeling of freedom, it was as if the boat belonged to us,” he says. Franck takes advantage of the speed in the bay, the children swim and have fun with the towed buoy. At lunchtime, the family drops anchor between the two Lérins Islands, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat. “It’s very wild, the water is very clear. It’s the magical side of the islands, ”he smiles.
For this father, this first rental experience was a success. “I had a lot of expectations, I really wanted to please my loved ones. Ultimately the day was perfect. They are already thinking of repeating the experience. In August, the family leaves for 10 days in Coti-Chiavari, in Corsica, where they hope to once again rent a boat and get back to sea.
