The Covid-19 pandemic and all the modifications generated under health measures and protocols, caused a direct impact on education, which in turn led to school dropouts.

Although the Municipal Directorate of Education has not carried out the precise investigations to measure the impact of the unexpected disease in the sector, its owner, Norma Rodríguez Contreras, mentioned that generalized data from the Ministry of Education of the State of Durango (SEED) indicate a school dropout rate of 10 percent.

He highlighted that the effects were many, “mainly to health, also in violence, in the economic sphere. And well, many of those dropouts are at the undergraduate levels, where the option was to continue working. We hope that this is restored and the young people return to the classrooms ”, when the conditions mark it.

Rodríguez Contreras said that they have also detected that family violence escalated, so the emotional situation of the students was affected, with stress.

“An important challenge is that for an upcoming return to school, it is a main factor to attend to health education, everything emotional, resilience, assertive communication. Offering them opportunities to have strengths and unleash their full potential ”.
