We belong to God and to Him we shall return.”
Qatar’s participation in peace negotiations
The Qatari delegation’s visit to Sharm El-Sheikh came at a time when Doha seeks to strengthen mediation efforts between Israel and Hamas, in coordination with Cairo and Washington, with the aim of stabilizing the truce and preventing renewed escalation in the region.
These moves represent an attempt to restore confidence in the negotiation process, and revive the Qatari role as a major regional mediator in the Palestinian file, in light of clear Egyptian-American support for a permanent and stable settlement of the crisis.
