This is how you imagine summer: The 30-degree mark was passed in the early Friday afternoon and the anticipation for a mild summer evening grew ever greater. This weekend had something very special to offer: outdoor cinema feeling under the slogan “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
But it was not only the corona pandemic restrictions on leisure activities that attracted film fans to the city, but the high quality of the summer cultural program of tourism and city marketing.
Managing director Michael Feiler noted at the beginning of the film that one would probably not be in the black, but that one would finally like to enrich everyday life in Bad Neustadt again. The Wrzburger team from “Die Eine Event … Nacht” had everything well prepared: From the large inflatable airscreen mega-screen, to single or seating areas for couples and even beach chairs, wine boxes as a table with floral decorations and, above all, a sophisticated corona -Concept.
Maria Zepke, employee of the organization team, builds on the great wealth of experience from “Eine Event … Nacht”. Because for ten years now there has been “Festungsflimmern”, the open-air cinema on the fortress in the cathedral city of Wrzburg. The whole concept was just right, even the red carpet in front of the Bildhuser Hof was not missing.
According to Michael Feiler, 100 places were approved in the idyllic location, only a few remained vacant. And then it was pure tension. From the first to the last minute. Start the film triology with the two-time Oscar winner “The Joker”. Last year’s comic book adaptation by Todd Phillips celebrated its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Now the film attracted numerous fans to the Bildhuser Hof. The film really captivated viewers.
The tragicomedy “The Peanut Butter Falcon” went into the next round on Saturday evening and for the grand finale on Sunday, those responsible planned to let the music comedy “Yesterday” flicker across the screen.
It continues with “after work”
A big bag with fresh popcorn and a refreshing drink were of course not missing at the movie night. Michael Feiler immediately took the opportunity to stir the drum for the next event. Under the motto “Closing time” there will be four evenings in the Bildhuser Hof from August 7th. With the musical formation “Famos” the first round should be full of zest and on August 14th it will be quite contemplative with music from the land of the rising sun and the two musicians Gayane Surem and Hadi Alizadeh. A reading from the city thriller in Schweinfurt is also on the schedule.
