Public transport driver scholarship increased by 50 percent in Moscow

The scholarship for future bus and electric bus drivers has been increased by 50 percent in the capital. Now the amount of the payment is 30 thousand rubles per month. This was reported by the press service of the Moscow Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development on Sunday, November 28.

The department noted that free training lasts from three months to 4.5 months. During this time, future specialists study routes on simulators and consolidate the theory.

Deputy Mayor of Moscow and Head of the Transport Department Maxim Liksutov added that public transport drivers go to work every day, despite weather conditions and other circumstances.

– The Mayor of Moscow has set a task – to create working conditions that meet the expectations of employees. Now the monthly stipend for future drivers is 50 percent more and amounts to 30 thousand rubles instead of 20, – said Liksutov.

More than 13,000 professionals are currently working on the streets of the city, he said.

On December 13, dedicated lanes for urban public transport will appear on five more street sections in Moscow.

Priority will be given to buses and electric buses traveling along Zelenodolskaya, Electrodnaya and Verkhnyaya Syromyatnicheskaya streets, Simferopolskoye and Novoryazanskoye highways.
