Record-breaking Sales

“Our SPK (reservation orders) have been steadily increasing throughout the event. This year, we aim for our reservations to be about 1.5 times higher than last year,” stated Regional Sales Manager of PT Chery Sales Indonesia, Willy Winawan. As of mid-way through the show, winning over 800 reservations, Chery has already outpaced last year’s numbers.

The Role of J6 in Success

The electric model, J6, has been a backbone of Chery’s performance at IIMS 2025. With roughly 40% of total reservations attributed to J6, the car’s popularity is closely linked to its attractive design and premium features. J6 stands out in the market with its boxy design and cutting-edge features that typically come at a much higher price point.

“The J6 offers a unique blend of premium features at a more affordable price. We expect this trend to continue, making it a favorite among many consumers,” explained Willy.

Ongoing Developments

J6 has garnered significant attention, with cumulative reservations reaching 2,000 units. Over 300 units have already been delivered to satisfied customers. To recognize early adopters, Chery introduced a special offer: the first 1,000 buyers of J6 receive a lifetime warranty covering the battery, power motor, and power motor controller.

Beyond Electric: Other Models

Besides the J6, Chery’s other models have also seen a spike in interest. Tiggo Cross, priced starting from Rp 239 million, has garnered attention, along with other offerings like the Tiggo 8. The mix of electric vehicles (EVs) and internal combustion engine (ICE) cars has catered to a broad spectrum of consumer preferences.

Future Outlook

The success at IIMS 2025 suggests a positive trajectory for Chery Sales Indonesia, indicating a shift in consumer preferences towards more sustainable and technologically advanced vehicles. As the motor show continues until February 23, further growth in sales is anticipated.

“The ongoing increase in reservations and the strong reception from the public at IIMS 2025 indicate a promising future for Chery in the Indonesian market,” Winawan noted.

Conclusion

Chery Sales Indonesia’s notable success at IIMS 2025, fueled by the popularity of its J6 model, highlights the growing demand for electric vehicles in Indonesia. With continued efforts to innovate and offer competitive products, Chery is poised to remain a significant player in the Indonesian automotive industry.
