Kylian Mbappé tested positive for the coronavirus on Monday, September 7, in Clairefontaine, as part of the screening organized by UEFA on the eve of France-Croatia. A control which led to his eviction from the France team and his placement in quarantine. In the current state of the regulations, the Parisian can resume individual training on Tuesday (the 9th day after his positive test) and group training or competition on the 15th day, i.e. on Monday September 21, the day after Nice- PSG (Sunday, 1 p.m.).
Only, according to our information, the health protocol of the LFP should evolve in the coming days. This is strictly modeled on the national doctrine on isolation. Prime Minister Jean Castex announced Friday the reduction of solitary confinement to 7 days, but the implementing decrees have still not been published in the Official Journal.
When this is the case, the FFF and the LFP (the Federation and the League) will once again base their health protocol on the national public health doctrine. Players could then resume group training or competition on the 8th day after testing positive or after symptoms start.
Icardi, Marquinhos and Navas expected against Metz
As is currently the case, this recovery should be framed by conditions and deadlines linked to the player’s state of health (symptoms, fever, etc.). The new provisions should apply to players who have recently tested positive, such as those who have already started their isolation process.
The authorities work to bring their regulations into conformity as soon as the government decrees are published. However, it remains quite unlikely that good news will come before PSG-Metz on Wednesday. The rest of the Parisian contingent should however be available for this meeting.
Even if the PSG did not formalize the positive PCR test of Icardi, Marquinhos and Navas until September 3, all three should be able to play against the Lorraine, since the date taken into account is that of the first symptoms declared. The goalkeeper was even announced present against OM before giving up because of back pain.
