- Hello everyone
In a few minutes, the runners will enter the first ramps of the Passo della Crocetta (11.7km at 5.8%), which will be immediately followed by Zambla Alta (9.8km at 3.3%).
After a beautiful descent of more than 20km, it will be the turn of the Passo di Ganda (9.3km at 7.1%), announced justice of the peace of this Tour of Lombardy. Unless the race gets carried away first…
99km – Last moment of respite?
Entering the last 100 kilometers of the race, the runners find themselves in this ten “transition” kilometers. After that, we expect fireworks.
102km – Ganna rides hard
After catching up with Quinn Simmons, the Italian made a very big relay, putting some of their breakaway companions in difficulty. The gap with the peloton is close to 2′.
105km – Simmons packs up
The American restarts the breakaway on the descent, while the peloton is getting closer. However, we will have to agree on the small transition before the next ascent.
107km – The UAE in steamroller mode
Pavel Sivakov is really hurting the peloton. After the descent, there will be around ten kilometers of flat ground, then we will go back up to the Passo della Crocetta. Is this where we will see the world champion’s famous attack?
108km – Be careful on the descent
The riders switch on the descent from Berbenno. Remember that a nice break had been created by the UAE runners in the previous one.
109km – Hamilton ace
The Ineos Grenadiers rider lost a few meters on the breakaway after a big relay from… Filipo Ganna, his teammate.
111km – The breakaway loses a man
Gal Glivar can no longer keep up. The gap is now only 1’28” with the peloton.
112km – Seixas recovers before another break
The peloton is in single file under the infernal pace of Pavel Sivakov. Trapped earlier, Paul Seixas and Ben Healy moved back into the top 30 places. And fortunately, because a breakout has formed again around the 50th position.
113km – Junction in the peloton
More fear than harm for Paul Seixas, Oscar Onley and even Ben Healy. The platoon reforms. But it’s a big warning.
115km – Let’s go for the climb to Berbenno
The leading men are on the 4th climb of the day (6.9km at 4.9%). Behind, a large peloton tries to plug the gap of around fifteen seconds with the Pogacar group.
117km – The peloton cut in two, Seixas in the wrong group
The descent caused damage. Many outsiders like Ben Healy and Paul Seixas are trapped.
The first group is made up of around thirty runners, including six UAE.
122km – The gap drops below 2 minutes
The 12 leading men only have 1’53” left. The peloton descends Roncola at high speed.
125km – The climbs keep coming
After the Roncola, the runners quickly head towards the climb of Berbenno (6.9km at 4.9%), then the Passo della Crocetta (11.7km at 5.8%) and the Zambla Alta (9.8km at 3.3%), before the final battle in the Passo di Ganda (9.3km at 7.1%) and the Colle Aperto (1.3km at 7.4%).
133.5km – Only 12 men left in the lead
The breakaway has already lost two units with Hellemose and Guernalec. Only Gal Glivar, Pello Bilbao, Filippo Ganna, Lucas Hamilton, Victor Langelotti, Quinn Simmons, Walter Calzoni, Louis Vervaeke, Michael Matthews, Bjorn Koerdt, Mattia Bais, Bart Lemmen remain.
138km – Guernalec can no longer follow
The Frenchman, present in a breakaway since the start of the race, explodes on the ascent of Roncola. He will be caught by the peloton very quickly.
139km – Martinene and chicken to get
Lenny Martinez really seems to be struggling today and is fighting to stay in the pack. The Italian is also in the last positions.
139km – Sivakov leads the peloton
The Frenchman from the UAE Team Emirates-XRG sets a sustained pace and cracks up many runners
140km – Hellemose is left behind the breakaway
Present at the front since the start of the race, the Dane was in difficulty and was unable to follow the rest of the breakaway.
142km – Runners in difficulty
German Gomez from the Polti-Visit Malta team is the first to no longer be able to keep up with the pace in the climb of Roncola. Other runners are starting to be dropped.
151km – Three minutes ahead for the breakaway
The gap now increases as we approach the ascent of Roncola. They are still 14 at the front with the Frenchman Thibault Guernalec.
154KM – on duroses du roncola
The first big climb of the day arrives for the runners with the Roncola and its 7.5km at an average of 7.4%.
160km – The gap remains
Still 2’20” ahead of the peloton for the 14 leading men.
Breakaway composition: Gal Glivar, Thibault GuernalecFello Bilbao, Filippo of Ganna, Hamilton Lucas, Victor Langelotti,
170km- Skujins’ rant
While we thought he was attacking at the head of the peloton, the Latvian came just to insult the camera bike which was much too close.
178km – Pidcock, Arensman, Grégoire, Champoussin trapped
Present in a large group of people left behind after the descent, all these runners are 45″ from the first peloton!
184.5km – Big breaks in the peloton
The descent of the Madonna del Ghisallo caused damage and the peloton was split into several groups. Be careful, the bill could be steep for certain riders like Pidcock who is now very far from the Pogacar group.
186.5km – Balancing act for Pidcock
After his fall, the rider in the Q36.5 Pro Cycling team had to change his shoe and he did it while riding.
200km – Tom Pidcock down!
The Briton fell in a bend on the descent of the Madonna del Ghisallo, but got up and started again without difficulty.
204.5km – The gap remains
The peloton led by UAE and RedBull has maintained a gap of around 2’30” for several kilometers with the leading men.
214.5km – RedBull-BORA-hansgrohe lends a helping hand
UAE Team Emirates-XRG receives training help from Jai Hindley and Primoz Roglic. A strategy that is not really understandable. Why lend a helping hand now instead of letting Tadej Pogacar’s teammates work and exhaust themselves.
216.5km – The counter group gets up again
Alessandro De Marchi, Lionel Taminiaux and Andreas Leknessund understood that they would not be able to join the breakaway. The leading group is 1’40” ahead.
224.5km – Fall in the peloton!
A central island is the cause of this fall. Sepp Kuss and Clément Braz Afonso are involved and the Frenchman seems very affected…
226.5km – More attacks
Orlus Aular and Nairo Quintana relieve in the platoon to please a Movistar runner at the forefront.
229km- Three runners against each other
Alessandro De Marchi, Lionel Taminiaux and Andreas Leknessund have just left the peloton to try to join the leading group. They are 15″ behind.
230km – A Frenchman at the front
Eleven of them took a few meters ahead over these first kilometers of the race. Thibault Guernalec is the only Frenchman present.
232km – Around ten runners at the front
A group of around ten riders took around 10″ ahead of the peloton. We find Quinn Simmons there, but also Pello Bilbao, Michael Matthews, and even Thibault Guernalec on the French side. Nothing is set in stone anyway and things are starting again.
241km – Let’s go for the last Monument of the season!
The flag is waved, the 167 runners set off for one last big day of racing this season. And Quinn Simmons is already on the attack with his mullet and his United States champion jersey.
The fictitious start was given
The runners will cover a few kilometers in the streets of Como before the start of hostilities.
Seixas already leader
After his impressive third place at the European Cycling Championships in Drôme/Ardèche last weekend, Paul Seixas closes his very promising season, in Lombardy and with a new status.
“It’s good that I’m leader for the end of the season. It shows that I have the ability to lead an elite team. I hope to get a result,” the Lyonnais told RMC Sport.

Pogacar, the unluctable memory?
Tadej Pogacar will be the overwhelming favorite to win his fifth consecutive Tour of Lombardy, an unprecedented feat.
In four participations, the Slovenian has won four times, and today, he will be able to equal Fausto Coppi, the “Campionissimo”, winner in 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949 and 1954, becoming the first to win the same Monument five years in a row.
Hello everyone
