In the North Kazakhstan region, investments in education grew by 56.9% over the year, but most of the investments are in the regional center, reports Petropavlovsk.news.
According to Finprom, in the first half of this year, investments in fixed assets in the field of education in the North Kazakhstan region increased by 56.9% over the year, to 3.3 billion tenge. The share of the region from investments in general in the education sector in the country amounted to only 3%, against 3.2% a year earlier.
In general, in January-December 2021, investments in fixed assets in the field of education in the region amounted to 9.3 billion tenge, which is 2.3% more than a year earlier. It should be noted that the share of investments in education has varied over the past few years in the region of 3%–3.5% of the Republic of Kazakhstan and does not change. In 2016-2017, the share was even smaller: 2.5% and 1.4%, respectively.
At the same time, problems in the field of education in the North Kazakhstan region remain relevant. The media often flashes news about the problems of the region – small schools, shortage of workers, outflow of personnel and much more.
In the first quarter of this year, certification was carried out in kindergartens and schools of the North Kazakhstan region. In total, 86 establishments will pass certification in 2022. According to the results of the first quarter, most educational institutions failed the test. Only one out of five preschool organizations has been certified. Out of 11 schools, only one passed the test.
Note: most of the population of the North Kazakhstan region lives in villages. Less than half of the population lives in Petropavlovsk: 219.4 thousand people, or 40.9% of the population of the region. At the same time, Petropavlovsk accounts for 79.8% of all investments in education.
In 4 out of 14 districts of the North Kazakhstan region, investments in the field of education have not been received this year. As of June 1 of this year, 77.5 thousand people, or 14.4% of the population of the region, lived in these areas.
On average, for each resident of the region, 6.1 thousand tenge of capital investments in the field of education fell for six months. At the same time, out of 14 districts, only in Petropavlovsk, as well as in Timiryazevsky and Tayynshinsky districts, investments per capita turned out to be more than the average for the region: 11.9 thousand, 11.2 thousand and 6.8 thousand tenge, respectively. In other districts – with the exception of Zhambyl – investment per capita did not even reach half the average.
It should also be noted that in the first quarter of this year, one of the lowest wages in the field of education was noted in the North Kazakhstan region: 219.7 thousand tenge – 27.4% more than a year earlier. The national average was 234 thousand tenge.
