Pat Lynch of Chestnut Grove, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, and formerly of Swords and Artane in Co. Dublin and College Road in Castleisland, Co. Kerry, passed away peacefully at University Hospital Galway on February 14, 2025, after bravely fighting a long illness.
Personal Life and Legacy
Pat is remembered with great love and respect by his cherished family and the community. He was predeceased by his parents, Rosaleen and Tom Lynch. Pat is deeply missed by his beloved wife of 57 years, Eileen.
His daughters Isabel, Christina, and Fiona also cherish his memory, along with his grandchildren Laura, Sarah, Mark, and Aidan. Pat’s tight-knit family extends to his twin brother Eamonn, sisters Geraldine and Maura, brothers Declan and Tomás, and his sons-in-law.
Professional Journey
Pat dedicated his life to the Department of Agriculture, where he worked with dedication and passion throughout his career. He was admired by colleagues and respected for his contributions to the field.
Forgotten Not
Beyond his immediate family, Pat touched the lives of many through his extended family, friends, neighbors, and former colleagues. His legacy will continue to be remembered with fondness and gratitude.
Funeral Arrangements
The family wishes to announce that Pat will repose in Coadys Funeral Home, Castlebar (F23XY63), on Tuesday, February 18, from 5:30 PM until 7 PM.
Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, February 19, with removal from Coadys Funeral Home at 10:30 AM to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar (F23WV62), for a Requiem Mass at 11:30 AM. Following the Mass, a cremation service will take place at Shannon Crematorium in Co. Clare at 4 PM.
