Palmer Fit: Chelsea vs Aston Villa Preview & Team News

Cole Palmer (23) is ready to play a full game for the first time since his injury. Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca (45) confirmed before Saturday’s Premier League duel with Aston Villa that the offensive support has successfully returned to full match rhythm.

“He’s ready for 90 minutes. He’s gone through the 45, 60, 70 minute progression and that curve is right,” stated Maresca. Palmer has been limited in recent weeks due to groin problems and later a broken toe, but should now be able to handle a full load.

In addition, Chelsea reports the return of two more players. Striker Liam Delap is available after a shoulder injury, as is winger Estevao, who has missed two games with a muscle problem. However, Maresca himself will not lead the match from the bench, because he will serve his punishment for the third yellow card of the season.

The Londoners face a tough test against the hot Aston Villa, who are third in the table and on a 10-match winning streak in all competitions. “They are full of confidence, it is clear how they want to play. It will be a big challenge.” Maresca admitted. Chelsea are seven points behind their opponents, who are seventh in the table.
