Having an annoying boss really makes the work day feel longer. But if your boss also has narcissistic traits, the impact is not just stressful, it can erode your physical and mental health.
Quoted from the New York Post, a certified practitioner of treating narcissistic violence, Melissa Croy, said that bosses who only care about themselves can damage the self-esteem, self-confidence and confidence of their subordinates.
“A narcissistic boss will also use your values and priorities as a weapon, challenging your identity and character, and threatening desired opportunities,” says Croy.

“Narcissistic bosses may demand unrealistic expectations, impossible-to-achieve quality work, and impossible deadlines,” he continues.
A pathological narcissist can damage the well-being of others through constant abuse that builds up stress, ultimately affecting mental health.
If things get bad enough and last long enough, the stress can lead to chronic post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
