A Norwegian citizen has been arrested in Hungary, the Oslo police district reports.
– After being sentenced to a longer prison term in a drug case in 2024, the convict disappeared abroad. He has been wanted nationally and internationally. At Christmas, the police received information that the Norwegian citizen could be in Hungary, and we then began a collaboration with the Hungarian police, the police write.
The man was arrested in Budapest on 7 January.
– He is now imprisoned in Hungary awaiting extradition to Norway to serve the drug sentence, the police write.
