If we say quinoa, goji berries, blueberries or avocados, in our heads they surely appear followed by expressions like “healthy”, “nutritious”, or “gives you energy”. They are almost magical foods, which are presented on social networks and Internet pages as superfoods (superfoodsin English), something like the superheroes of the shopping basket. There seems to be no recipe for smoothie on Instagram or TikTok that does not contain at least some of them.
But are there really ingredients with extraordinary powers to improve health, or is this simply a clever food marketing campaign and digital mythology to try to present shortcuts and excuses that make it easier to eat healthy?
