Peel regional police said they had arrested a third wanted man in connection with the blatant murder of a 32-year-old man who was shot dead outside a gym in Mississauga a week ago.
The shots rang out in a commercial square in the area of Dundas Street and Cawthra Road around 11.15 am on 11 March.
Officers and paramedics responded to the scene to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim, who was identified as Michael Deabaitua-Schulde of Mississauga, was hospitalized where she succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.
The suspects fled the scene and a burned vehicle was found not far off the Rymal and Tomken roads shortly thereafter.
Police said the killing was targeted and that Deabaitua-Schulde was a member of the Niagara chapter of the Hells Angels motorcycle band.
Investigators have previously called the murder "cheeky" and "reckless".
"The murder took place in broad daylight outside a gym located in a busy shopping center … (Is) an example of the contemptuous contempt for public security that criminals have," said the regional police chief by Peel Chris McCord at a press conference last week.
On March 14, police announced that two Montreal suspects had been arrested in connection with the murder.
Marckens Vilme, 28, was charged with first-degree murder, while 26-year-old Jonathan Martinez-Reyes was charged with accessories after the fact.
On the same day, the police issued a mandate throughout Canada for a third suspect, 38-year-old Joseph Pallotta of Saint-Leonard, Que. Police said Pallotta was wanted for first-degree murder in connection with the murder of Deabaitua-Schulde.
Police announced on Monday that Pallotta surrendered to the authorities yesterday.
Police say all three suspects have links to organized crime, but have not given a specific reason for the murder.
