MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota scored five points at the bottom of the fifth to come from behind and beat Detoit, retaining the lead for 2 1/2 games in the American League Central.
Miguel Sano scored his 26th heat at home of the season, Max Kepler his 35th and Jake Cave his fifth of the season while Kyle Gibson won his 12th victory of the year. Gibson allowed five 5-inning runs 1/3.
Taylor Rogers launched 1 2/3 innings to earn his 20th rescue of the year.
ASTROS 5, ANGELS 2
HOUSTON (AP) – Alex Bregman hit his 32nd career homer and Wade Miley earned his seventh consecutive victory as the Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Angels 5-2 on Saturday night.
The AL-West leading Astros has tied the New York Yankees for the best record in the AL to 84-47. The angels lost the fourth in a row.
Michael Brantley extended his series of successes to 17 games with a two-stroke homer in the first inning. Bregman took the 5-0 lead with a three-shot homer in the third – the third All-Star base hit 31 home runs last year.
Miley (13-4) made a run on five shots with four strikeouts on five innings. I picked up the first nine hitters before David Fletcher doubled to take away the fourth.
Will Harris came ninth for his first rescue of the season.
Luis Rengifo went home solo in the fifth Angels. Mike Trout cut the 5-2 lead with a single RBI in the seventh.
Dillon Peters (3-2) allowed five shots on six shots in 4 2/3 innings. The left-handed player has given up five races for a second consecutive start.
INDIANS 4, ROYALS 2
CLEVELAND (AP) – Franmil Reyes struck a three-pitched humerus to help Cleveland beat the Kansas City Royals 4-2 Saturday night in a game in which the Indians lost the third baseman Jose Ramirez due to a right wrist injury .
The thirtieth homer of Reyes 'season featured a third inning of four shots against the Royals' Glenn Sparkman (3-9). Reyes has three homers since he was acquired from San Diego on July 31st.
With the victory, Cleveland passed in front of Tampa Bay in one of the two wildcard points AL.
Ramirez, twice All-Star, left the game in the first inning after rejecting a field. He immediately bent over in pain before leaving the field with a trainer. A spokesman for the team said he had left "Discomfort on the right wrist".
Mike Clevinger (9-2) scored eight and allowed to run for 5 2/3 innings, remaining unbeaten in his career against Kansas City and improving at 4-0 at home this season. The right arm is 9-0 with a 1.93 ERA in 14 appearances against the royals.
Brad Hand worked on the ninth without scoring for his 31st rescue. It was his second conversion on two nights after three direct saves.
Mike Freeman, who replaced Ramirez, had two successes and led Oscar Mercado to open the scoring ahead of the second episode of the season at Progressive Field.
The Royals pulled in 4-1 in the fourth when Meibrys Viloria doubled Cheslor Cuthbert home. The choice of a defender of Jorge Soler marked Humberto Arteaga in seventh place.
Cuthbert doubled in the sixth to finish a 0-for-40 slump. His previous success was a two-stroke humerus August 8 in Detroit.
