A plane, paid for by the Liverpool fan club, flew around the WACA with a banner that highlighted the European dominance of the reds during the Red Devils' open training session last week
Manchester United was given a reminder of Liverpool's recent Champions League victory during an open training session in Australia – but the Red Devils have recovered.
A banner with the words "Liverpool FC – 6x European champions" was pulled by a plane around the WACA in Perth while the Red Devils had trained during their pre-season tour in Australia.
The Perth Liverpool supporters group paid for the plane to pull the banner, which appeared above the famous cricket ground on Thursday.
He did little to hit United, however, as they trained well and started their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 defeat against the local Perth Glory team. Marcus Rashford opened the scoring at the Optus stadium on Saturday, with James Garner adding a second five minutes from time.
And the leaders of the United States, in fact, saw the funny side of the banner, with an official who jokingly derided Liverpool after seeing him in the sky.

"It was a real tribute," a US official told the Mail. "Lo [the banner] flew across the stadium 20 times."
For those who do not understand the reference: Manchester United won the first English division 20 times, which is twice as much as Liverpool. They passed the previous Reds record in 2010/11 and added their 20th title two years later.
Thus, while the Liverpool flag mocked Man United for having fewer European cups than the Reds, the United official decided to recover by emphasizing the excellence of the Old Trafford club on the national stage.
About 12,000 people visited the WACA for the open training session, with around £ 30,000 collected to go to a football league integrated in the area.
