The latest Disney trailer for "The Lion King" impressed us – BGR

In recent years, it has been a bit frustrating to watch Hollywood people lazily churning out remakes after remakes after remakes. Call me old-fashioned, but I'd rather watch smart and original movies and TV shows instead of being bombarded by a seemingly endless series of superhero and reboot movies powered by nostalgia Fuller House.

That being said, there are some exceptions to the rule and the next Disney live-action remake The Lion King is a prime example. Disney has been making fun of the movie for a while, slowly but surely increasing the excitement of what will surely be an overwhelming success. Earlier today, Disney introduced a new trailer for The Lion King which should get you pumping for the release which is only 100 days from this point, or July 19, 2019, to be precise.

As you would expect from a Disney release of this magnitude, the roster of voice actors for the film is first and includes Donald Glover as the voice of Simba, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Beyoncé as Nala, John Oliver as Zazu, and last but not least, James Earl Jones as Mufasa. Finally, the director is Jon Favreau.

Make sure you watch the trailer until the end and you will be treated to Pumbaa and Timon playing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight".

Disney has been on something of a live tear recently, with Dumbo having been released only about two weeks ago e Aladdin scheduled for release at the end of next month. Given how much he is loved The Lion King is, it is obvious that it will be the most successful and profitable of all the Disney live-action remakes we have seen so far.
