NORMAN – Women's tennis north of Oklahoma is on its way for two games this weekend when it travels to the 12th state of Oklahoma for the state of Wichita on Saturday afternoon for the Sunday Bedlam collision.
The Sooners (14-5) split off their last league weekend by falling to Texas 4-3 before Baylor ended 7-0. OU is 4-2 against Big 12 opponents and is in fifth place in the state of the conference.
OU is led by Oleksandra Korashvili in first place in the singles. Korashvili checks in at No. 23 in the last ITA release and has compiled a 14-4 record of the year. The junior threw down six nationally ranked opponents this season and dropped only one game in the Big 12 competition.
In addition to Korashvili, two Sooners have double-digit victories. Martina Capurro is 10-5 and mainly plays in number 2 place, while Camila Romero is between three and four courts with 13-5. Romero and Capurro lead the Sooners in double hits and combine for a 12-4 & # 39; record & # 39; on lane two.
Scouting from Wichita State
The Shockers come in 11-8 overall and have won their last three games. In the last competition weekend, Wichita State swept both UMKC (4-0) and Drake (7-0).
Fatima Bizhukova is the representative of Shockers in the ITA rankings, where she is at No. 106. Bizhukova is 3-0 of the season with all her wins in first place and has won two wins over ranked opponents.
In doubles, Bizhukova and Marta Bellucco are national number 26 with a 1-4 record on lane one.
