Pia Andrews takes on the role of NSW digital government – Techworld Australia

Pia Andrews, known for her work on openness and open source, returns to the Australian coasts to take on a new role with the New South Wales government.

Andrews left Australia last year to help lead the New Zealand Government's Service Innovation Lab. For the decamping to NZ she held a series of roles within the federal government, including the supervision of GovHack.

The NSW government said Andrews had been appointed executive director of the digital government, with effect from 24 September.

Andrews will report to Greg Wells, the most important information from the state government and digital officer.

"Pia is highly respected worldwide and brings decades of experience with open data, open government, digital transformation and the government as an API", said Martin Hoffman, secretary of the Department of Finance Services and Innovation of NSW.
