Nobody wants the upload filter, but … | TIME ONLINE

It has been argued for a long time, but now it has finally been decided: the new EU copyright reform. Authors such as publishers, broadcasters
and artists should be better reimbursed for their online content from now on. Critics predict censorship of the Internet. They warn that the reform could use upload filters that would partially block legitimate content. The SPD was against the reform. In the end, however, Justice Minister Katarina Barley, unlike many of her party colleagues, voted in favor. She had to.
