An Australian lawyer is trapped in a Bali hospital waiting for cosmetic surgery on her face after being attacked in Bali on New Year’s Eve.
Perth’s mother, known only as Brenda, saw a fight erupt in front of her while celebrating the New Year on Kuta Beach.
The 53-year-old woman took out her phone to film the incident and then said that if the papers were reversed, she would expect someone to record for her to use it as evidence.
Another woman involved in the street fight lashed out at Brenda while filming, removing the phone from her hand and throwing it on the pavement.
Brenda, 53, can be seen with blood falling down her face after the vicious attack.
“Don’t film, idiot,” the woman shouted after the spontaneous assault.
He suffered lacerations from the eye socket to the nose so deep that his bones were exposed, as well as large swelling and bruising.
Brenda’s daughter, Zara, told 7News that the incident was something no one would want for her parents.
She said her father has developed a permanent brain injury and needs 24-hour attention in a home, and that her family has already spent enough.

“He hasn’t said a word, he hasn’t approached anyone,” Zara said about the moments before the attack.
“She thought,” Okay, well, I’m going to quickly take out my phone and film it, just because if it happened to me I’d like to catch it as evidence. “
Brenda is covered by travel insurance, but hopes to identify the people involved in the fight and, most importantly, the woman who attacked her.
“Even if it’s you, even if you’re the people involved, just introduce yourself and trust it,” Zara said.
