After a lot of criticism and legal disputes, the overnight accommodation platform Airbnb now wants to again offer accommodation in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank. The homepage of the US company states that all legal disputes on this issue are settled. The profits from the leases there should be donated to humanitarian aid organizations.

Airbnb decided in November to withdraw its accommodation in the West Bank. The settlements are at the center of the dispute between Israelis and Palestinians. Many in the international community have stressed, according to Airbnb, that companies should not operate here because they are convinced that one should not make profits in areas from which people have been expelled. The decision involved around 200 accommodations.

The Palestinian leadership had welcomed the decision. Israel, on the other hand, described it as "discriminatory." In Israel as well as in the USA then concerned persons filed a complaint against discrimination against Airbnb.

Israel conquered East Jerusalem and the West Bank during the 1967 Six Day War. The Palestinians, on the other hand, are calling for territories for their own state of Palestine with East Jerusalem as the capital.
