According to information from “Morning“, two young hockey players from the Lausanne HC juniors have tested positive for the coronavirus. This news has led to a quarantine measure for ten LHC hopefuls, which began a few days ago.
With a month and a half before the resumption of the championship, these cases of coronavirus within the teams do not give a positive sign for a return to normal play on September 18, especially since the young U17 Elite internationals from CP Berne and SCL Tigers have also been placed in quarantine. The players probably got infected during the Swiss team’s warm-up matches against the Czech team at a summer camp that took place from July 20 to 25 in Zuchwil. 16 of the young Czechs tested positive.
In addition, the SIHF informed the clubs whose players had participated in this preparation camp. All the players and members of the management of the Swiss national U17 hockey team are therefore currently in quarantine and this for another ten days.
According to the SIHF, the team in charge of contact tracing from the Office of the Cantonal Doctor has taken up these cases and is working intensively on contact management. The cantonal doctor’s office asks all people who participated in this event to carefully observe their state of health over the coming days. Even minor symptoms can suggest a Covid-19 infection.
