Kim Clijsters has been ranked in the WTA rankings for the first time since her new comeback. Without victories, she appears at number 1.015. Naomi Osaka has gained 6 places and is in 3rd place.
Naomi Osaka and Victoria Azarenka are the big winners in the WTA rankings after the US Open. After her victory in New York, the Japanese jumps from 9th to 3rd place.
The Belarusian Azarenka is also making a nice jump. The losing finalist rises 13 places and is now number 14. Ashleigh Barty continues to lead the rankings, even though she canceled for the US Open.
Elise Mertens remains the best Belgian. She reached the quarter-finals in New York just like last year, but she has to drop two positions and is just in the top twenty.
Remarkable: for the first time since her new comeback, Kim Clijsters also has a ranking again. The 37-year-old Limburg, who lost in the first round at the US Open, makes her appearance in place 1.015 with twelve WTA points. Clijsters could not yet win a single match with her comeback on the WTA Tour.
