(Kota Kinabalu, 28th) A man abused his family dog for a long time. The neighbor couldn’t watch the video to report. The cruel owner was eventually arrested by the police and the dog was reborn.
Zhong Xiaoting, director and inspector of the Kota Kinabalu Association for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCAKK), pointed out that the dog abuse incident occurred in Tasik Garden, Binlambang. The owner of the dog abused was a middle-aged Chinese man who lived with his wife and children.
She said that since January 23 this year, the owner’s neighbors have repeatedly beaten their puppies with water pipes during the day or night.
A neighbor tried to take a video as evidence. When he passed the owner’s house at 10pm on the 22nd of this month, he once again witnessed the puppies being frantically beaten and could not help but stop him.
The owner took the dog into the car in a rage, and the puppy disappeared after that.
Send the puppy away after being complained
Inspectors of the Kota Kinabalu Animal Cruelty Prevention Association went to the house the next day, but the man and the puppy were not seen, so they reported to the police and submitted the video provided by the witness.
Zhong Xiaoting pointed out that the police arrested the man this Wednesday (26th). When the man was questioned, he informed his friend that the puppy had been sent to his friend’s home in Tuaran.
“The police instructed the suspect to take the puppy back to Kota Kinabalu and arrest him. After an investigation was opened, he was brought to court.”
“The puppy has been handed over to the Kota Kinabalu Association for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. It is a male dog under one year old and treats people very friendly.”
After being examined by a veterinarian, the puppy had wounds on its head, tail, and front right foot.
Zhong Xiaoting stated that under the 2015 Animal Welfare Law, if an animal abuser is convicted, he will face a maximum fine of 100,000 ringgit and three years in jail, or both.
