More than 9,600 applicants for Itaipu Scholarships pay tomorrow

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 12, the basic skills exam in Spanish and Mathematics will be held for the award of 3,000 university scholarships offered by Itaipú Binacional, corresponding to the 2022 call.

After meeting the requirements established in the Bases and Conditions Guide in the registration process, the ITAIPU Scholarship Unit qualified 9,625 students from various departments of the country for the test.

Applicants must appear at their respective venues one hour before the assigned time, with their identity card and the calculator allowed. They must wear face masks and comply with health care. The exam will be applied, simultaneously, at the headquarters of San Lorenzo (FIUNA and FCQ); Luque (CITEC); Conception (UNC); Encarnacion (UNI); Colonel Oviedo (UNCA) and Ciudad del Este (UNE).

Taking into account the large influx of applicants, morning and afternoon shifts were enabled in certain locations. Those summoned for the morning shift will access from 7:30 to 8:30 and the test will start at 9:00.

For the afternoon shift, admission is scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the evaluation will begin at 3:00 p.m. The duration of the exam in all cases is 120 minutes and the minimum requirement to pass it is 60% of the maximum score achieved.

The exam test was prepared by secondary school teachers under the direction of the Faculty of Engineering of the UNA (FIUNA). For its preparation, the technical recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Sciences (MEC) were respected.

The use of smart phones and watches is prohibited. Applicants must follow the guidelines of the vigilant teachers in the classrooms to avoid situations that could be considered fraud and be disqualified from the selection process.

People with disabilities will receive due attention to ensure access to classrooms. The necessary guidance is also provided for applicants belonging to indigenous communities.

The results of the evaluation will be announced on Monday, March 14, on the Itaipu website. Those applicants who passed go directly to the socioeconomic evaluation phase that is in charge of the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

High School graduates from public, subsidized private and private institutions in Paraguay participate in this process, with an outstanding final grade average equal to or greater than 4.00, from the 2019, 2020 and 2021 promotions. college courses are available.
