In the Czech Republic, the first infection with the Lambda coronavirus strain was detected. This option was first recorded in Latin America.

This was reported by the State Institute of Public Health, Novinky reports. One case was recorded in the Central Bohemian Region.

The representative of the department, Helena Yirzhinkova, clarified that the infected person was found last week.

The country also recorded 120 new cases of the “Indian” Delta strain, 21 cases of the “Brazilian” Gamma and 65 “South African” Beta.

It is noted that the country is dominated by the “British” strain, and a third of the patients are in the Czech capital Prague.

The World Health Organization believes Lambda may be more infectious than normal COVID-19. Also, previously, it can carry a great threat to the immune system.
