Munich: In Bavaria, a new scholarship is intended to make nursing training more attractive for young people. Health Minister Holetschek announced that students in so-called primary qualifying nursing courses could apply for the program from the second semester onwards in the coming winter semester. A monthly subsidy of 600 euros is planned; the scholarship is granted for a maximum of three years. In return, the scholarship holders must undertake to work for at least five years in a facility for acute care, outpatient or inpatient long-term care in Bavaria after completing their studies; deployment in psychiatric or pediatric care is also possible. The funding can be applied for at the Bavarian State Office for Nursing.
