Legal Battles and a Father’s Actions

This was in March 76. my dad was a military, he put a weapon above the table and told my mother: “Sign.” I have the name of the judge, it was called Smith last name, which must have already died already.

The journalist highlighted the questionable decision of the judge at the time, emphasizing the emotional toll it took on her mother. “That judge said that a 3-year-old girl had to go to live with her dad, I will never forget it. My mom never lowered her arms,” Iglesias stated, underscoring her mother’s unwavering determination.

Unforgiveness and Estrangement

Iglesias expressed a deep sense of unforgiveness towards her father for the separation. This sentiment has persisted throughout her life, influencing her relationship with him and other family members.

I will never forgive him that I have separated from my mother.

She revealed that she has chosen to remain estranged from her father, declining any attempts at reconciliation. “I will never forgive it and I don’t accept anything either. He called me another day and did not attend it. I don’t want to know anything,” she explained. This decision reflects the enduring pain caused by the childhood separation.

Seeking Solace and Understanding

Iglesias shared how she sought solace and understanding through faith and therapy.initially, she attributed her return to her mother to divine intervention.

Sometimes I went with my mother and one day we went to pray to the miraculous medal to return with her and always believed that it had been a miracle, until the age of 18,that I went to the psychologist, who told me that it was as my mother fought for me.

However, through therapy, she gained a deeper understanding of her mother’s relentless efforts and the impact of her own resilience. This realization provided a new perspective on her childhood experiences.

The Absence of a Father and Sibling Estrangement

Iglesias also touched upon the lasting impact of her father’s absence and her strained relationship with a half-sister. “The absence of a father feels a lifetime,” she lamented, highlighting the emotional void left by her father’s lack of involvement.

She revealed that while she has a half-sister, they have no meaningful connection. “Moreover, my dad had another daughter.I have a sister, but we have no deal. We have spoken once again, we are already adults, but we have no link. He never generated it,” Iglesias explained. This further underscores the complex family dynamics and the enduring consequences of her childhood trauma.
