This week the Mayor’s Office of Barrancabermeja launched the Meritorious Scholarships program, with which the District will recognize those who stand out in the academic, sports, and certain productive and social sectors.
And so that there would be no doubts about this benefit, the first scholarship in the academic category was awarded, which rewards the most outstanding in the results of the Saber 11 Tests, and it was for the young Antonio Vargas, who obtained 445 points out of 500 and who will study Physics, thanks to the $ 100 million stimulus.
“I tell young people to strive to get what they want, because everything is possible with a lot of effort and discipline, each achievement obtained increases motivation,” said the scholarship recipient.
In turn, the mayor of Barrancabermeja, Alfonso Eljach, pointed out that “for the first time in the history of Barrancabermeja we awarded scholarships for merits, a special recognition to those people who for years have worked in different areas contributing to the development of the city, being example of discipline and commitment for all ”.
The Mayor’s Office will award meritorious scholarships to people who are related to the sectors: Industrial, Tourism, Agroindustrial, Environmental, Social Leadership, Health, Art and Culture.
