Two mask refusers rioted on a KLM flight from Amsterdam, Netherlands to the Spanish holiday island of Ibiza and were arrested by Spanish security forces after landing. The two men refused to wear masks on the flight on Friday and verbally and physically assaulted other passengers, a KLM spokesman told Dutch news agency ANP on Sunday.
Video shows scuffle on board
Both men were drunk and were kept in check by the pilot’s instructions. Passengers would have helped. Wearing mouth-nose protection is mandatory on KLM flights, as the airline writes.
KLM thus confirmed a report by the AT5 broadcaster showing a video sequence with a wild scuffle on board the aircraft. One of the two rioters can be seen with his bare torso on the plane, he is punched in the face by another passenger and shortly afterwards the fellow travelers press him on the ground in the middle aisle.
As the airline told the broadcaster, safety on board was not at risk. Nobody was significantly injured.
