A heated dispute has emerged in the Portuguese Championship Serie B,with Marco FC,currently third in the league,lodging a formal complaint regarding the eligibility of two Cinfães players. Eduardo Filipe, president of Marco FC, expressed his concerns, stating, I didn’t even see the game, but they sent me an audio from Cinfães coach to report the situation, because he did not use a player under the same conditions, registered after the date of the start of the game. If he says he was informed, I believe it was by the FPF. Filipe further explained that he verified the players’ registration dates and afterward requested clarification from the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) disciplinary council.He emphasized the importance of a swift resolution, given the proximity of the playoff matches. Cinfães Defends Player Eligibility

In response to the allegations, Gil Almeida, president of Cinfães, maintains that the club acted within the established regulations.Almeida told Record, We tried to collect with the organizing entity of the competition, the FPF, the necessary data regarding this situation.If we use the players in question, it was because we explained that we could do it, we have this clarification in writing. So, in Salgueiros we are of peaceful conscience, we fulfilled the rules. He asserts that Cinfães sought and received confirmation from the FPF regarding the players’ eligibility before fielding them.
