the metropolitan Area Advisory Committee (MAAC), a Chula Vista-based non-profit, has been awarded the “anchors of Excellence” award by the port of San Diego for May. During a Port Commissioners Board meeting on May 6th, Danielle Moore, president of the Port of San diego, presented the award.Moore emphasized MAAC’s long-standing dedication to the region, stating:

For more than five decades, it has been a reliable partner and a pillar in our region, helping individuals and families to achieve stability, self -sufficiency and hope. This recognition celebrates not only its impact, but also the values ​​they represent: equity, dignity and prospect for all.

Nominations are open to the public and are evaluated based on community impact and representation across the five member cities: Chula Vista, Coronado, Imperial Beach, National City, and San Diego.
