This August, the sale and purchase of homes in Lleida registered a decrease in the number of operations compared to the same month in 2024. Specifically, a total of 499 sales were closed, while last year there were 535, 6.8% less, according to data made public yesterday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). This is the first time so far this year that the previous monthly figures, which were recording record levels, have not been exceeded. Likewise, the vast majority of sales, 393, were second-hand homes, and there were only 49 that were protected. In Catalonia, operations also fell by 0.6%, with 6,093.
On the other hand, yesterday the INE also published mortgage data for August. In Lleida a total of 236 were established, which is 0.43% more than last year, but if compared to July there is a decrease of 29.97%. The total money lent was 27.8 million euros, which is 13.49% more than in 2024. The average amount per mortgage was 118,102 euros. Throughout Catalonia, the number of mortgages increased by 13.9% to 5,745.
