Liz McClarnon Reveals Baby’s Gender After IVF Journey
Atomic Kitten’s Liz McClarnon shared teh news live on “Loose Women,” recounting her and husband Peter Cho’s struggles with IVF.
Singer Liz McClarnon, of Atomic Kitten fame, became emotional while discussing her IVF journey on Wednesday’s episode of “Loose Women,” also revealing the gender of her baby.
Last month, the 44-year-old and her husband, Peter Cho, announced they were expecting their first child after undergoing years of IVF treatments.
The couple, who met four years ago, began their IVF journey shortly after. They faced three unsuccessful embryo transfers in 2023 and two miscarriages the following year before finally receiving the news they had longed for.
Following a video segment about her journey, a tearful Liz joined the “Loose Women” panel, admitting, “That piece then, it made me get a bit teary back there.”
Panelist Jane Moore inquired about her progress, asking, “Where are you now, what stage?”
Liz responded, “I am just around five months.”

Happy couple Liz and Peter met four years ago and soon after meeting started their IVF journey – and unfortunately had three failed embryo cycles in 2023,and then suffered two miscarriages the following year,but finally got the happy news that they wanted
“We know what we’re having.. if you’d like to know?” Liz asked the panel.
She then revealed the baby’s gender: “We’re having a boy!”
“We thought it might be a girl, we thought it might be a girl,” she added.
Liz also shared her excitement about potential baby names, saying, “Lots of names going around in my head and getting realy excited by.”
Earlier in the segment, Liz explained why watching her video package had been so emotional. “It’s been really tough actually,” she said.
“It’s strange because I speak about it, but hearing you talk about it then, in third person, it’s completely separate to me, it made me upset, it was almost likes someone else,” Liz continued.
Speaking about her IVF journey, Liz said: ‘Whereas when you deal with it yourself, you’re like “oh, carry on. Let’s do this”‘

Jane Moore then asked if the couple had anticipated fertility challenges before trying to conceive.
Liz responded, “The reason we went to a doctor to find out, when we met, I was over 40, it’s a reality. We thought let’s see where we are, let’s see where we stand.”
She added that doctors told her,”Everything seems ok,you have fluid around your ovaries,but let’s start some treatments. A couple of hormones…”
Reflecting on her IVF experience, Liz said, “You do think straight away, this will be fine, one go. This will be it.”
“The first time we got 10 eggs, couple fertilised, then we went on holiday, it was so stressful, you get phone calls every day, they keep you updated.”
“We got so stressed we went to France for a few days.We got a phone call while there that no embryos have reached the last stage.”
she confessed, “It was the biggest shock of my life. I didn’t expect them to say that. I don’t think anyone does.”
Liz continued,”The second time,maybe this time,you do have so much hope every single time…I hated myself for having the hope, but you’re so right, if you don’t go into it with that, why are you doing it?”
