Earlier this month, news emerged that google Translate would soon help users improve their language skills. Now, google has officially launched a beta experience within the Translate app, offering new ways to learn.

According to Google, the feature is designed for both beginners looking to practice conversation and advanced speakers aiming to refine their vocabulary before a trip.Users can now create personalized lesson plans within the app. Unlike structured courses like those offered by Duolingo, Translate gives users control over their learning path.

To access the new feature, users can tap the “practice” button in the app, set their skill level and learning goals. Translate will than generate a customized scenario. Users can listen to conversations and tap on words to improve comprehension, or practice speaking with hints available when needed.

This new experience is available on both Android and iOS devices starting this week. Currently, Google supports English speakers learning Spanish and French, as well as spanish, French, and Portuguese speakers practicing English.

To use it, tap “practice” in the app, set your current skill level, what your goal is, then Translate will generate a customized scenario for you.
