Europeans are “the main obstacles to peace”, according to Moscow
“After a new administration came to power in the United States, Europe and the European Union emerged as the main obstacles to peace”declared Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with the Russian agency TASS published early Sunday. “They do not hide that they are preparing to face Russia on the battlefield”adds the head of Russian diplomacy.
Furthermore, Mr. Lavrov declares that “ the regime of Vladimir Zelensky and his European advisors are not ready to engage in constructive discussions” for peace. “This regime terrorizes civilians by targeting our country’s civilian infrastructure through acts of sabotage”underlined the Russian minister.
This statement comes as Russia heavily attacked the Ukrainian capital, kyiv, and its region, on the night of Friday to Saturday, leaving two dead, around forty injured and leaving more than a million homes without electricity.
“To the somewhat slow-witted European politicians, to whom I hope to show this interview, I repeat: there is no need to fear that Russia will attack anyone”assured the Russian Foreign Minister. At the same time, Mr. Lavrov stressed that, “If someone decides to attack Russia, the response will be overwhelming.”
