Laredo, United States 26-Oct-2025 .-Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents detained a father and his son on the Laredo II international bridge when they were trying to cross a truck loaded with 400 weapons.
The discovery occurred on Thursday when officers were inspecting vehicles heading to Mexico.
In the walls of the truck’s bed, the agents located the weapons hidden, among rifles and rifles, as well as chargers and high-caliber ammunition.
Both were accused of smuggling hundreds of weapons and ammunition into Mexico.
For his part, the United States Ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, highlighted the efforts of Mexico and his country in the fight against arms smuggling.
“Another example of how nations working together produce results for the people. US authorities seized 400 weapons going to Mexico – and arrested those responsible. Weapons that will not reach criminal hands. Shared security in action. Delivering results,” he wrote in X.
